It Only Takes A Spark
Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 10:50AM This video slideshow highlights the Outreach efforts of the UofL Micro/Nano Technology Center (MNTC). Every year approximately 1000 school kids tour the facility. The students range from as young as 5th grade through undergraduates. Via a partnership with the Louisville Science Center, the MNTC is expanding its outreach beyond the surrounding counties. Students from as far as Peoria, IL have been able to gain access to a world class research cleanroom and spend time with working engineers. It is believed that this exposure to current, working engineering research will excite the participants about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This facility is the home of the Kentucky Nanonet, an NSF-funded project. THIS MATERIAL IS BASED UPON WORK SUPPORTED BY THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION UNDER GRANT NO. 0814194.
