KY NanoNET & the UofL Micro/Nano Technology Center participates in Nanodays celebrations at the Louisville Science Center.

On Dec. 7, 2010, 16 5th and 6th grade students from St Rita Catholic School visited UofL's Micro/Nano Technology Center. This tour was the result of the KyNN and MNTC's partnership with the Louisville Science Center.

June 11, 2010 - The participants in the 2010 INSPIRE program toured the micro/Nano Technology Center today. Twenty-five high school seniors spent the morning learning about micro/nano technology, engineering and UofL research.

June 10, 2010 - Thirty-six 5th grade students from the Okolona area of Louisville visited the Micro/Nano Technology Center.

June 7, 2010 - The Jefferson County Public Schools Student Technology Leadership Program wrapped up their summer camp this year with a tour of the UofL Micro/Nano Technology Center. These students and parents spent more than an hour with the Center's engineers learning about the Micro/Nano research that is being conducted at the center.

45 Students from Tully Elementary School's Engineering is Elementary toured the Micro/Nano Technology Center on May 25, 2010.

The Kentucky Nanonet crew made the trek to Lexington for the 2010 EPSCoR State Conference.

On May 13, 2010 over 100 7th graders from Newburg Middle School toured the UofL Micro/Nano Technology Center

May 10, 2010 - 40 middle school students from Ascension Middle School visited the MNTC.

On April 17, 2009 20 students from Louisville's Adelante Hispanic Achievers toured the UofL Micro/Nano Technology Center.

27 high school seniors from Peoria area schools visited the MNTC on April 8, 2010.

The Kentucky Nanonet team worked with the Louisville Science Center on April 1-3 for NanoDays 2010.

On March 31, 2010, the Louisville Science Center, Speed School of Engineering and the Micro/Nano Technology Center hosted a premier event, complete with red carpet entrance and a visit from NanoMan, for the IMAX feature "Molecules to the Max"

Oct 6, 2009 - Sixteen WKU students toured UofL's Micro/Nano Technology Center and several of its labs this week.

June 11, 2009 - Forty-eight incoming 5th grade students were given a glimpse at college life, including life in the cleanroom.

June 11, 2009 - The INSPIRE 2009 students toured the MNTC this week.

June 8, 2009 - The MNTC received the first of two new furnace stacks this week. This system will greatly improve the thin film capabilities of the center. When operational this system will be capable of boron/phosphorous diffusion, oxidation and annealing on 4 and 6 inch substrates.

40 fourth graders visited the cleanroom and learned all about nanotechnology.

Nearly 100 seventh graders had a taste of campus life today touring the facilities at the MNTC and, between events, enjoying the beautiful weather beside the fountains.

Another exciting day for local elementary school students at the MNTC, twenty-nine members of the J-Town Engineering is Elementary Club tour the facility on May 18th, 2009

On May 27th and 28th, the KYNNET software initiative (KRUNCH) sponsored a visit by John Bloomsburg from IntelliSense. Faculty, staff, and students participated in a hands-on training session introducing them to IntelliSuite, a software package for MEMS layout, design, and simulation.

Sixteen very excited second and third graders visited UofL's cleanroom yesterday along with seven of their teachers. The Engineering is Elementary Club members were shown a brief overview of MEMS and microtechnology by Joseph Lake before donning their bunny suits and going into the cleanroom for a short tour.

The UofL MNTC cleanroom is preparing for a major equipment installation. Two furnaces stacks will greatly expand the thin film capabilities available to KyNN researchers.
